This menu item will only be available when:
(1) a SIMPROCESS model is open, and
(2) the Define Dashboards window is not open.
When selected, a Dashboards dialog will be displayed similar to those used for defining other SIMPROCESS constructs like Entities or Resources. Its Close button can be used to dismiss the dialog; its other features are described below.
Add... initiates the process of assigning a new Dashboard to the SIMPROCESS model. It will display a New Assigned Dashboard dialog where you must provide a unique name (used for reference only), the Internet Protocol address of the host system where a Dashboard Server may be running, the port on which the server is anticipated to be listening for messages, and the location of a Dashboard file previously created.
Edit presents the Assigned Dashboard Properties dialog to specify how you plan to use this Dashboard from this particular model.
Copy allows you to duplicate the selected Dashboard assignment. It creates a copy of the selected item and displays the Assigned Dashboard Properties dialog as above. You may cancel that dialog to discard the duplicate item. Copying an assigned Dashboard makes it easy to display the same Dashboard to multiple Dashboard Servers when simulating your SIMPROCESS model.
Remove will delete the currently selected item from the list of assigned Dashboards.
Undo will be enabled only if the Remove button has been used and will restore the last removed Dashboard assignment to the list.
File... allows changing the location of the Dashboard (".spd") file associated with an assigned Dashboard. This should be used if the Dashboard file is moved from its previous location, or in the event that a model is received from another SIMPROCESS user and refers to a Dashboard file in a directory location other than where you store yours (e.g., a different directory, or models exchanged between Windows and Linux systems where directory names are different). If the Edit button is used and the named Dashboard file cannot be found or does not correctly parse, an error will result, which may indicate that this option should be used. For best results, always store dashboard files in the same directory with model files that refer to them, since a relative path will be stored whenever possible.
