Assigned Dashboard Properties

This dialog will allow the editing of numerous properties associated with an assigned Dashboard.

Dashboard Name is not truly meaningful, as the name of a Dashboard to a Dashboard Server is the name of the ".spd" file in which it is defined. However, a unique name must be chosen so that SIMPROCESS can readily identify the assigned Dashboard and its properties.

Server Address is the Internet Protocol (IP) address where a Dashboard Server is expected to be listening for messages when this SIMPROCESS model is simulated. The default value of "localhost" is provided when a Dashboard is initially assigned. This special IP address will correctly resolve the local machine on any system equipped with network hardware. You may use an actual numeric IP address (such as 192.168.1.2), or any name (if a Domain Name Server is available to your system) that will correctly resolve to an IP address. You may also use a valid multicast IP address, which is discussed further in the topic on the Dashboard Server and the contents of the server.properties file. If you select a multicast address, a Dashboard Server must be configured to join that multicast group in order to receive messages.

Server Port is port on which the Dashboard Server at the specified IP address is expected to be listening for messages. A port is analogous to a frequency on a radio or a channel on a television set. The default port at which a Dashboard Server will listen is 5555, though you can select any port between 1025 and 65535.

In the scrollable area of the dialog, you will see a display similar to that in the Define Dashboards window. Unlike that window, you cannot actually change the sizes or locations of Graphs here, and you can only select one Graph at any time. However, you can double-click any Graph, or select it and click the Edit... button at right in order to specify the properties you wish it to take on when simulating this SIMPROCESS model. A separate Graph Properties dialog will allow you to enter appropriate information for each Graph.

Clicking the OK button will validate the Dashboard Name, Server Address and Server Port entries, then save the updated properties and dismiss the dialog.

Clicking the Cancel button will dismiss this dialog without making any changes.

Clicking the Help button will display this Help topic.

Clicking the Edit... button will display a dialog for setting the properties of the selected Graph.
